Comment sont les logements en France?


En ville, la plupart des Français habitent des appartements. Les appartements sont sans garages et sans jardins. Quand tu n’as pas de jardin, c’est difficile de sécher le linge ! Regardez bien les appartements dans la photo – le linge est suspendu de la fenêtre ! Et la voiture ? Elle est garée dans la rue.	In town, most French people live in apartments. These are without garages and gardens. When you don't have a garden it's a bit difficult to dry the washing! Have a good look at the apartments in the photo and you will see the washing hung out of the windows! And as for your car, it's parked in the street.

Il y a souvent des chambres dans le grenier. Dans la plupart des maisons et des appartements, il n’y a pas de buanderie. La machine à laver est située dans la cuisine. La cave est une pièce très importante pour les Français, car c’est ici où on met les bouteilles de vin ! A la montagne,il y a souvent une pièce spéciale pour sécher le linge, qui s’appelle le séchoir. C’est sous le toit, dans le grenier.	There are often rooms in the attic. The majority of houses and apartments do not have a separate room for the laundry. The washing machine is located in the kitchen under the work surface. On the other hand, a cellar is a very important room for French people as it is where you keep your bottles of wine! In the mountain areas, houses and apartments have a special room called le séchoir for drying clothes and washing. This is often located under the roof in the attic.

Chaque région de la France a un style de maison différent. Dans les régions où il y a des forêts, les maisons sont en bois. Voici une maison aux colombages. On voit ces maisons en Alsace, en Normandie ou dans l'Auvergne.	Each area in France has a different traditional style of house. In the regions where there are forests, many of the houses were made from wood. This is a house with wooden beams. You can see houses like this in Alsace, Normandy or the Auvergne.

Dans les régions montagneuses, les maisons sont souvent en pierre. Les toits sont souvent en pierre ou en ardoise. Ces maisons se trouvent en ville ou à la campagne. Elles sont anciennes, chaudes en hiver et fraiches à l'intérieur pendant l'été.	In mountainous regions, houses are often made of stone, with stone or slate roofs. Houses like this can be found in towns and in the country. They are old; warm in winter and cool inside during the summer months.

En ville, les maisons et les immeubles modernes sont en brique ou en beton. Beaucoup de maisons et d’apartements n’ont pas de garage. On gare les voitures dans la rue. Beaucoup de gens qui habitent en ville n'ont pas de voiture. C'est difficile de stationner. Plus important, les transports en commun, comme les bus et les trams sont pratiques et bon marché.	Modern houses and apartment buildings are constructed in brick or blocks. Many do not have a garage, people park their cars in the street. Many people in cities do not own a car because of the difficulty of parking, and the fact that there is a reasonable public transport system. The buses and trams are easy to use, and also cheap.

Les HLM (habitations à loyer modéré) sont des logements pour les gens qui sont pauvres. Les HLM sont souvent des appartements.	HLM (Homes at moderate rent) are housing for people who are not well off. They are mostly apartments and are provided by the government.

French houses are very small. Often the door will open directly on to the street in many towns and villages. Houses have shutters on the windows, to protect from the cold weather or the sun. The rooms and the yards are very small.

Dans les Alpes et à la montagne on trouve des maisons typiques en bois, qui s’appellent des chalets.

Dans le nord de la France et à la montagne, tous les logements ont le chauffage central.

Dans le sud, le climat est plus doux, et le chauffage central n’est pas nécessaire.

Les maisons typiques du Queensland sont en bois. Ils ont des toits de tôle ondulé. Les maisons et les appartements modernes sont en brique.

Il n’y a pas de chauffage central dans le Queensland à cause du climat subtropical. Il y a la climatisation ou des ventilateurs. Les maisons ont des vérandas et des terrasses. Il y a souvent un grand jardin avec une piscine. Quelques maisons ont même un terrain de tennis !

There is no central heating in Queensland because of its subtropical climate. Poeple have air conditioning or use fans. Homes have verandas and patios. There is often a big backyard with a swimming pool. Some houses even have a tennis court!
