History

The club started operations in March 1954 with a group of six women with the aim of forming a Royal Life Saving Club that catered for women. At that time Surf Clubs catered for men whilst Royal clubs had female members.

By the late 1950's and early 1960's the club had grown to a reasonable size, during this time patrols at Bulcock Beach, Caloundra commenced. Originally the Beach was patrolled by Women only. Later on, men and women patrolled on alternate weekends and mixed patrols began in the 1970's.

The club promotes the safety of its members and the public through the development of knowledge and skill.

Today the club is a professional Life Saving organisation.

The present clubhouse was constructed in 1989 and is located adjacent to Bulcock Beach, at the Eastern end of the beach. The clubhouse is on stumps/piles with half the clubhouse elevated above the beach.

Bulcock Beach is a popular, still water beach, edged with white sand.
